National Volunteer Week- April 15th– 21st

Dear Volunteers,

Happy National Volunteer Week! To our present, past and future volunteers; THANK YOU for changing the lives of thousands of children in your community. Our goal here at Big Brothers Big Sisters is to provide children with a mentor to help them realize their potential but without YOU this would not be possible. You are the shoulder to lean on, the helping hand, the teacher, the friend, the bright light on a dark day and show them that they are cared about. But wait that’s not all; many of you help out at our fundraisers, come out and support during events, and some even work on our board.

“A Big thank you to all our Big Brothers, Big Sisters, In School Mentors, students, volunteers, board members, sponsor and donors our agency could not exist without you. None of this could be done without all of  you. Thank you for giving the biggest gift anyone could give, your time.”
– Ron Graham, Executive Director

“In-School Mentors make a big difference in a short amount of time. Our volunteers dedicate one hour a week to spend time with a mentee in the school setting. I’ve seen positive changes in our mentees behaviours, school work, and self-confidence. The children we serve look forward to the stability and consistency our volunteers offer each week. It allows out mentees to have a positive role model to hang out with and play games. Our volunteers never fail to leave a positive imprint on a life of our mentee. THANK YOU!”
– Jessica McPhee, Program Coordinator

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart. – Elizabeth Andrew

“This is a quote I love! It has so much meaning in so few words. I find when you volunteer you notice that people want to truly be there and are fun, happy and so great to be around! Our volunteers at Big Brothers prove daily, weekly, monthly and even years later, that they have BIG hearts. They may not necessarily have all the time in the world to give, but they always make time to mentor youth that could gain some guidance, kindness, friendship, and heart. Thank you for giving your time and your heart to the agency, our children are lucky to have you and we are equally lucky to have known you!”
– Vanessa Rabideau, Caseworker

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for everything you do.
